The past few weeks have been far too busy for my liking! As a result I haven’t been tending to my website but that’s ok, I bet no-one reads these anyway. This isn’t really a week note, but more of a month or more note.

I’ve started working with some new folks, we’re moving house and I’ve met some lovely new people. After some not-so-great experiences at previous jobs, it's been refreshing to find a workplace that I can enjoy and start to look forward to the future as I settle down in domestic life. It’s been a long slog and I’ve learnt some hard lessons along the way.  I’m writing these as a reminder to future Liam to keep my work life peaceful:

Watch out for companies that promote themselves heavily as the "best place to work." They’re probably not.

Listen to your gut. Does something feel off but you can’t quite put your finger on it? If it does, it’s probably better to stay away.

Learn more about negative personality traits and 

 to avoid working with people who display them. Instead, try to find people who are genuinely kind and competent at what they do.
